New York to St Andrews, the long way

There's a ship that lies rigged and ready in the harbor, and tomorrow for old England she sails

Far away from our land of endless sunshine to the queens land full of rainy skies and gale.

And we shall be aboard that ship tomorrow though our hearts are filled with tears of our farewell

For Hawaii is so beautiful and we love her dearly more dearly than the spoken words can tell.

With any luck we hope to not be sailing into the gates of hell.

Mahalo's to T-bone Overstreet.

The Crystal Symphony sits at the NYC cruise terminal

As we sailed out of the harbor we passed One World Trade Center as the sun was setting

Our first stop was Bar Harbor, Maine where played 18 at Kebo Valley Club.

Then it was on to Halifax, Canada....

She's a beautiful vessel and kept in top shape.

Tough conditions kept us out of St John, New Foundland so we headed to Iceland, While at sea Julie and I took golf lessons and a class on making movie's. Here's a short video (1:08) on our visit to Iceland.

Here's the link to it for now, I'll get it posted here soon.

We golfed the Icelandic island of Heimaey

We were getting into the full swing of cruising by now and enjoying quality time together, and visiting the ports.

Next stop Glascow, Scotland. We visited our favorite museum of this trip at Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum. Here's a few images with labels from this exciting visit...

Rembrandt

Mary Queen of Scots facing her end

Jules sitting next to the Great Adam Smith who had a great influence on our nation.

Then we were off to Auchentoshan single malt distillery.

Out to sea...

We golfed Dublin, then went into town...

Back out to sea before our 2nd to last visit to the town of Weymouth, England which is quite a busy tourist town. Check out the Aloha shirt wearing ukulele playing group in the middle of town.

And these two at the bridge, the place was hopping!

And then our final evening aboard the Crystal Symphony

And in the morning, we awoke in Dover, England: moving day.

Several hours on the train and we found ourselves at St Andrews, Scotland. This was the pano view out our window, halfway down the 17th hole of the Old Course.

We golfed "The Duke's" course above the town, many beautiful scenes this day.

Then the Castle Course, another absolutely enjoyable day and our first experience with caddies. And they were great.

When not golfing we walked around town...

St Andrews University, the United Kingdoms 3rd oldest University

Jules outside the Royal and Ancient Golf Club. You can see part of the bleachers being built behind the 18th. This was an interesting time to visit with all the prep work being done for The Open which is 2 weeks away.

The Hotel

The Hotel had some enjoyable images scattered throughout the property.

Last nite at St Andrew's, here's the view from the balcony.

Then back on the train to London, meanwhile you should know when in Scotland, I only read "The Scotsman" because anything else is crap!

So we enjoyed 24 hours in London. Before flying home...

...and so now we are home. Glad we have the weekend to acclimatize. This was a most enjoyable time of being together. On the way home from the airport our friend asked what day was most memorable. We couldn't answer, each day stands out, and we have made shared memories that will be with us for our lifetime.
Thank you for sticking with us on this one, and until next time, we'll see you on the trails Amigos!
