We had some time off and decided to visit Wyoming specifically we had heard the call from Grand Teton NP and Yellowstone NP, and we answered.
First stop was Teton Village where we stayed a few nights. There is a gondola
that will take you up a few thousand feet for dinner, here’s us off the front of “The Deck”
There was also a chair lift so I rented a mtn bike and spent one morning cruising around. Tough to see but I am riding up in front of the lift.
I wanted to get the lay off the land and hope to return to climb the Grand Teton. On this day my goal lay straight ahead. The Middle Teton…
Starting out at 6K ft the hike goes up the right side towards Disappointment Peak then breaks left into Garnet Canyon, here’s the view in the canyon looking up at the Middle Teton.
I ran into two others guys soloing Jessie from Virginia and Andrew of Idaho. They had been here before so I followed them for a while.
Me resting close to the saddle between the middle and south Teton
Then we were off to Yellowstone…Here’s Jules and I at Yellowstone Lake, we stayed at the hotel right there and I would not suggest you do the same, I would have been happier in a tent! OK poor comparison, I am almost always happier in a tent.
We went for a drive...
Tatonka! Gather the hunting party!
Here’s a closer view of a few nearby the road.
We stopped by a few waterfalls here we are taking a break from the driving.
Yellowstone NP is a huge area, like they just paved right through wilderness. I definitely have to go back to the Tetons but I am content with my mini tour of Yellowstone, it could take a lifetime to see all of that park.
So the teachers report back this week, I began running and biking to lose some weight, I look forward to a new school year and doing my best to promote good thinking and good living.
That’s all for now Aloha!
